That sub-bass.

Great.

You could do another mix of this and it would work as drumfunk, too. :P

I'm sure you'll get into the show. Or else I'll go over there and make them.

v150r responds:

ha-ha, thanks :)

When the drum beat kicks in, you should probably get rid of the symbols. It kinda kills the mood. xD

Other than that, it's really good. It reminds me of a Furi Anga song, sort of.

Nice stuff.

Keep it up,

Archangel-Briggs responds:

Thanks very much for the feedback. :)

I like the idea, but I think it might benefit you to get some reference on this one. The piano sounds a bit midi-ish, and you might be able to download some sound samples or something that might reduce that feel. The drums could be filtered out slightly more, to give that relaxing feel. And the tempo could get a bit slower.

That said, sounds good.

Now for the aforementioned reference that reminds me a lot of this piece. I know it may not immediately seem similar to this song, but it does have some key similarities that you can ponder about, especially in the beginning. And you can get some of what I was talking about with the drums. :)

And may you ever find improvement in all that you do. I enjoyed this and see a lot of opportunity.

Indigorain responds:

Haha, thanks for the review, although I made this two years ago :P
I've improved quite a lot :P

xD Nice.

Songs like this make me laugh in a good way. Reminds me of Noisia's track Shitbox.

Downtempo stuff always provides a source of fun.

djhoohaa responds:

Ty for the listen xD

I'll critcise.

That's what I'm good at.

And since this is only an early version...

Make a ton of dirty synth. This need it, because it does bore (ehem, after a couple of loops, not the first run thorough. Good job with that.) after some time. Just backround Exsision style dubstep bass. Then maybe filter out the sound starting from highest down to lowest and... start the song?

Keep the industrial, but make sure to have the horror industrial used in Injection. That was epic.

Keep the loops veried slightly. Make sure the synth comes out of tune slightly from time to time to make it somewhat creepy. Do the same somehow with the guitar or something without making similar.

Good luck with it!

If you don't get very much of what I suggested into the song, it's fine. Your songs are always epic. xD

StaticStigma responds:

XD Thanks for the great suggestions. We'll definitely do our best to please everyone with this song. As of now, I haven't run through much of the effects or transitions and sounds we'll be using in the finished project. I literally was just so excited to get my composing software back up and running that I've mostly just been fiddling around and taking nothing I made seriously.

When I clumped this together, I realized it had potential and ran it by Tino. After getting his reaction, we decided to finish it. All this literally happened a couple days ago. I just wanted to post it up to show that Cognition Vault is still very much alive, despite our absence. And this is just a short test, showing the general tone for our new project.

We're actually working on a couple songs right now, but our aim is to release this one first, followed by a little special something thats a bit more experimental and... different.

The Gangster Raps I'm not fond of

Your older style is better, in my opinion. I also like the instrumentals. Not as much this one.

DJ-Delinquent responds:

i wanted to experiment

It's very calming.

I'm really fond of this type of song. For me, it sounds like adaptive ambience. It's busy, but not enough to get out of ambience, but too much at times to be ambient. It's odd, but I like it. I would love hearing how dubstep would sound from an artist like you.

Neurotangent responds:

I'm sorry I missed this, but here I am! I remember reading it, I must have been busy or something to dismiss it. Thank you.

I'll keep that dubstep comment in mind, too. Perhaps I could give it a shot. Out of my comfort zone, but that's not always a bad thing, you know?

Did you know

That Mix Master Mike uses Ableton Live? o.O Anyways, awesome dance/house.

blarsa responds:

Thanks! Deadmau5 uses it as well. We moved on to Cubase 5 though haha.

Perfect new genre

It's great that you combined Industrial with metal with almost a DnB sound. Congrats, and nice work. A 5/5 for you. However, the noise provides a tad too much music clutter, so I'll take off one point off the ten stars. If you make the noise a bit clearer, I 'll bring the point back on your next track.

StaticStigma responds:

Haha, yeah, my headphones broke during the final stages of production so I could never do a final mix on it. And sadly, my computer crashed and it'll be a while before I can edit ANY of my songs, if i can recover them. So this'll be my last song for a while... :(

Thanks for the review.

This Makes the Mobius Strip go Crazy.

Nice job, but look at that visualizer go.xD

flight39 responds:

Yeah, I never really noticed it but you're absolutely right, the mobius strip is crazy! Almost hypnotic...
